Amber Francis, Great British Menu Champion of Champions, will deliver a showcase demonstration on day one of The School Food Show and Forum at 1.15pm where she will highlight how to bring excellence and innovation to school kitchens.

The ever-popular School Food Live returns with cookery demonstrations taking place in Hall 1 on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th July. All six of the School Food Live cookery demonstrations will be available to both attendees and Forum delegates.

Amber Francis is an award-winning British chef, born and raised in the countryside, where farming and nature shaped her food philosophy. Classically trained at The Ritz London, with further experience in world-class kitchens including The French Laundry, Amber’s cooking is rooted in seasonality, technique and purpose.

She is head chef and senior food educator at Christ’s College Finchley, where she is redefining school food and championing cooking from scratch. In 2025, Amber won SquareMeal x Ayala Female Chef of the Year and was crowned Great British Menu Champion of Champions.

For a school chef to be named the Great British Menu ‘Champion of Champions’ is a testament to the incredible skills and creativity across the school food sector. The School Food People are ‘thrilled’ that Amber has agreed to join this year’s School Food Show to share her expertise.

Eva Humphries, The Wholefood Warrior, will host a cookery demonstration titled ‘Bang in the Beans’. The campaign has highlighted how beans and pulses can be used as an alternative or additional protein source. There will also be two School Food People partner demonstrations on each of the days.

The annual Grab ‘N’ Go competition, sponsored by SchoolGrid, will take place on Tuesday 7th July. The winner will demonstrate their winning dish to visitors and delegates on day two whilst chatting with the hosts and taking questions from the audience.

As the host of Saturday Kitchen for many years and now of Masterchef the Professionals, Matt Tebbutt is one of the most familiar and popular chefs on TV. Supported by the Grab ‘N’ Go winner he will demo a dish that can be adapted to be used in the school food service whilst sharing stories and anecdotes from his career.
