CRB Cunninghams invites school leaders to take part in free school meals survey
With just six months until the new FSM criteria come into force, many schools are considering how the change will impact day-to-day operations. The cashless catering provider is asking education and catering leaders to share their views and concerns in a short, two-minute survey.
Feedback will inform a new guide to help schools and trusts prepare for free school meal expansion, covering financial and operational considerations, as well as practical strategies to engage pupils, tackle stigma, and increase FSM uptake.
A CRB Cunninghams spokesperson said: “This positive step offers significant benefits for the pupils and families most in need of support, as well as their wider school communities. At the same time, rising demand for free school meals will likely increase existing pressures on school catering services, budgets, staff and facilities.
“We want to help schools prepare for these changes, maximise FSM uptake, and make the most of this opportunity to improve pupils’ health, wellbeing, and educational outcomes.”
School, trust and catering professionals are invited to share their experiences by taking part in the survey here.
