Dr Sara Long to give RISE research update at School Food Show & Forum
The School Food Show and Forum is scheduled to take place on 7-8th July 2026 at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole. Last year Dr Long shared with the School food People an overview of the UK Government funded three-year project called Reducing Inequalities in the School Food Environment (RISE).
Dr Sara Long (PhD) is interested in improving health, wellbeing and education outcomes of children and young people. She has led research projects on several major policy priorities spanning public health, social sciences, education, psychology and medicine.
The project team are now in a position to share findings. Dr Long will share results from two of the four major studies: the first has involved mapping primary school food systems across four UK nations, exploring similarities and differences across contexts.
The second study has involved intensive data collection with children, their families, and school staff in Welsh primary schools in the context of the universal offer in Wales; emerging findings will be shared from this work.
This session is only available to delegates and is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 8th July 2026 at 10.15am. For more information and to book your place, visit here.
