Grab ‘N’ Go finalist spotlight: Asmaa Abdelrhman
The winner will be given a demonstration slot on the live feature on Wednesday 9th July to showcase their winning dish. In the final Asmaa will create a Chicken Crepe.
The school chefs will be judged on the originality of their dish, how well the flavours and ingredients worked together, the variety of textures in the finished dish and the appealing look of their grab & go item.
Asmaa said: “I enjoy learning and developing my skills in baking and food preparation, with a particular interest in healthy cooking, nutrition, and creating new recipes. I am especially interested in researching how food choices and calorie balance can affect health, energy, and mood.
“I love making cakes, biscuits, cupcakes, different types of bread, and party food for school events and celebrations. I am currently studying Production Chef Level 2, where I continue to improve my practical cooking, hygiene, and presentation skills.
“Through cooking competitions, I discovered that competitions are not only about winning, but also about learning and personal development. Competitions have helped me gain confidence, improve my creativity, and develop new skills and experiences that continue to support my growth.
“I learned that every competition is a journey that begins with creating a recipe, improving it through practice, receiving feedback from experienced professionals, and continuing to develop the dish until it becomes the best version possible.”
