Public Sector Catering has revealed the names of the eight shortlisted finalists for the Education Catering accolade that will be unveiled at its awards ceremony on Thursday 9th April at the London Hilton Metropole.

Nominations were invited for catering professionals, teams and organisations working in establishments within the education sector for this award, which recognises excellence in the provision of foodservice for schools and academies in the state sector.

The nominee could work within a local authority, contract caterer, school or academy. Judges were looking for supporting evidence of menu development and operational innovation, impact of any changes such as meal uptake and increased revenue as well as the nominee’s impact on teams and/or pupils.

The finalists in the Education Catering Award are:

  • Blackpool Council Catering Services
  • Bury Council - School Catering
  • Catering Team - East Renfrewshire Council
  • Citywide Services - Salford City Council
  • Juniper Ventures
  • NYES Catering - North Yorkshire Council
  • Stir Food
  • Scott Graham - Education Authority Northern Ireland

Other relevant categories include: Catering Manager of the Year Award, Chef of the Year Award, Contract Caterer of the Year Award, Health and Nutrition Award, Innovation Award, Marketing Award, Special Contribution Award, Sustainability Award, Team of the Year Award, Training and Apprenticeship Award and Unsung Hero Award.
