The School Food Show to feature exhibition celebrating history of school meals
As part of this showcase, the exhibition will present a fascinating journey through the history of school meals, exploring how school food has evolved over the decades, from early welfare provision to today’s modern, nutritious school lunches.
This special feature brings history to life and highlights the vital role school food has played in supporting children’s health, learning, and wellbeing. Visitors will be able to discover:
- How school meals first began and developed over time
- Key milestones in the history of free school meals
- How food, policy, and culture have shaped what children eat in schools
- Nostalgic memories of school dinners across generations
The School Food Exhibition will be appearing at The School Food Show on 7–8 July 2026, alongside a 160+ supplier exhibition, interactive workshop sessions and live cooking demonstrations.
There are also delegate package options available, which include access to Forum sessions, networking dinners, and accommodation.
